In this introduction to integrated physics and chemistry, students will begin their study of the natural world by looking at its smallest parts, atoms; the course will then focus on how objects interact, including discussions of energy, motion, and force. Students will apply the concepts of force, motion, and work in a hands-on, simple-machines lesson. This is the first course in a two-part Eighth-Grade Science series (GSCI 035 and GSCI 037).
