EFY Teachers

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The deadline for submitting a teacher application was October 1, 2009.

If you applied before the deadline and do not teach Seminary/Institute full–time, OR if it has been more than five years since you have taught for EFY, you must submit a video presentation of you teaching.

Video Submission (for new Non S&I teachers only):

If you post a video please send an email to efyteacher@byu.edu with that information.

If you need to mail your video, please send it to:

Brigham Young University
Teacher Application
206 HCEB
Provo, UT 84602–1504

The video submission should be of you teaching the youth, ages 12–18. This video should be a substantial amount of time (recommended 20–40 minutes) and the teaching should be focused on the scriptures and gospel principles. We do not call our teachers "speakers" therefore, we expect student participation throughout the class. Simple principles such as RPA (Readiness, Participation, Application) and SAA (Search, Analyze, Apply) should be employed. If you have questions about this, please email us at efyteacher@byu.edu. If we do not receive a video presentation from you by November 20, 2009, your application will be considered incomplete.

Welcome to the EFY Teacher home page! The purpose of CES Youth Programs is to encourage and assist participants as they strive to “come unto Christ.” Teachers for Youth Programs are expected to set strong examples for participants by:

  1. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ and showing by example the joy and happiness which comes with that commitment.
  2. Teaching effectively the gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the standard works and the words of the living prophets.
  3. Administering appropriately by following the teachings and principles of Christ like leadership.

Remember—we are to be teachers ‘come from God.’
Never sow seeds of doubt.
Avoid self–serving performance and vanity.
Prepare lessons well.

Give scripturally based sermons.
Teach the revealed doctrine.
Bear heartfelt testimony.
Pray and practice and try to improve.”
