EFY Paid Stay-at-Home Counselor

Stay-at-Home programs are intended to serve those youth who would not be able to attend an overnight session of EFY because of the cost. These programs are more affordable because of one difference; there is no overnight housing. EFY Paid Stay-at-Home counselors will be paid $325 each week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Be responsible for a group of 10-15 youth of the corresponding gender.
• Be responsible for the physical and spiritual well-being of each participant for the entire weeklong program.
• Teach in both formal and informal settings.
• Be a proper example of a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.

EFY Paid Counselor

EFY counselors are the single most important factor contributing to the success of the program. EFY Paid counselors will be paid $375 each week.

• Assigned to group of 10-15 youth of the corresponding gender
• Responsible for the physical and spiritual well-being of each participant for the entire week long program
• Both formal and informal teaching is required
• Be a proper example of a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ

Requirements

• Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing
• Have one year of college or one year of work experience out of high school
• Male applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old by August 15, 2010
• Female applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old by August 15, 2010
• Be a maximum of 28 years old by September 1, 2010
• Enjoy working with youth
• Be able to work well with coworkers
• Have good public relations skills
• Be able to work long hours
• Be able to motivate and discipline when necessary
• Have some service experience
• Be comfortable in small groups
• Be organized, teachable, and dependable
• Provide own travel to and from sessions at own risk and expense
• Abide by the Especially for Youth counselor dress and appearance standards
