EFY Overnight Counselor

EFY Overnight Counselors will be paid $375 for a weeklong contract.

EFY counselors are the single most important factor contributing to the success of the program.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assigned to group of 10–15 youth of the corresponding gender
• Responsible for the physical and spiritual well-being of each participant for the entire weeklong program
• Both formal and informal teaching is required
• Be a proper example of a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ

Requirements

• Be a member in good standing
• Be willing to accept as a condition of employment compliance with the Church Educational System Honor Code and the standards of conduct that are consistent with qualifying for temple privileges.
• Have one year of college or one year of work experience out of high school
• Enjoy working with youth
• Be able to work well with coworkers
• Have good public relations skills
• Be able to work long hours
• Be able to motivate and discipline when necessary
• Have some service experience
• Be comfortable in small groups
• Be organized, teachable, and dependable
• Provide own travel to and from sessions at own risk and expense
• Abide by the Especially for Youth counselor dress and appearance standards
• Male applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old by May 31, 2012
• Female applicants must be a minimum of 20 years old by May 31, 2012
• Must be no more than 28 years old by September 1, 2012

• ASL fluency (for the ASL accommodated session)
