Youth Conference Speaker Requests

BYU Youth Conferences is a program that lets us help you with your youth conference by sending quality teachers to your area.

Please note that all Youth Conference Speaker Request Forms for the months of June, July, and August must be submitted by May 4 of the same year. We will accept requests for Youth Conferences that will be held from September 1 to May 31 anytime.

How does a Youth Conference Speaker Request work?

You are responsible for all aspects of your youth conference: choosing the location and dates for your youth conference and making any necessary housing and food arrangements for the participants. BYU does not house Youth Conference participants anymore due to housing limitations.

Print out the Request Form. The first page is the actual request, asking you to list your contact information, the dates of your conference, and the conference theme. The second and third provide room for you to explain in detail the agenda you’ll be using and how many teachers you wish to invite.  The last page is a priesthood approval form. The appropriate priesthood approval needs to be received with your request forms. These forms must be filled out and mailed to our office (address on top of form) with a $50 nonrefundable deposit.

Once your request is complete, mail it in to our office:

Youth Conference Speaker Request
Brigham Young University
Religious Enrichment Programs
299 Harman Continuing Education Building
Provo, UT 84602

Our office will send approved teachers to your conference for the days you request.

After the conclusion of your conference, you will be billed for the teachers’ participation.

We have teachers available year–round to teach.

Who are the teachers and how do I arrange for them to come to my conference?

BYU–CE has a vast pool of quality teachers we use for all our youth programs. Most of our teachers are seminary or institute teachers. Many live in Utah, but we do have teachers scattered throughout the United States.

We can not provide a list of names that stakes can choose from. However, we are happy to make suggestions based on location and teachers’ availability. All of our teachers and their presentations have been cleared through Church Correlation.

Scheduling teachers to come to your conference is simple. Just fill out the Request Form and send it in to our office with a $50 deposit. The form lets us know how many teachers you want and what days you need them.

We will contact the teachers and let them know of your conference’s theme, goals, and requested topics.

Our office typically makes all travel arrangements for the teachers. If arrangements need to be made differently, please contact our office at 800-992-1014.

What does it cost for a youth conference speaker?

The cost is dependent on several factors. BYU–CE bills you for the direct cost of your teachers:

  • The honorarium paid to the teachers (which is based upon how long the teacher is with your conference and how often they teach)
  • The direct travel costs (which could be airfare, car rental costs, or mileage)
  • Hotel/Lodging fees (BYU policy requires that teachers have their own room and bathroom while traveling. They may not stay in homes of participants.)
  • Food/Meal costs while traveling for the conference
  • Overhead/administrative fees

A $50 deposit is required at the time of your request. That deposit will be applied to your final bill.

Because of all the variables, it is impossible to give a price quote online. Please contact our office at 800-992-1014 for an estimate.
