For every ten enrollments with BYU Independent Study, a high school or its equivalent* will be awarded one enrollment in a Rewards course.
The program seeks to award students with a need for, or interest in, BYU Independent Study. This need, which may be described as financial hardship, schedule conflict, academic interest, etc., will be determined by the high school counselor or other educational supervisor.
Rewards shall be granted without regard to race, religion, gender, or disability in accordance with federal, state, or local law.
Application and Registration
- After a high school* has achieved ten enrollments with BYU Independent Study in an academic year (September 1 to August 31), a high school counselor or education supervisor may nominate a student for one of the Rewards courses offered.
- The high school counselor should call our toll free number 1-800-914-8931 and then press 1 to reach registration. They will need to have all of the following information available:
- High school name and ACT code
- Name, date of birth and social security number of student
- Mailing address, email address and phone number of student
- The scholarship course the student wants to take
- Name and email address of high school counselor
