ENGL 33 — Seventh-Grade English 2

Prerequisite:

ENGL 31 (Seventh-Grade English 1) or equivalent.

Description

This is the second course in a two-part seventh-grade English series (ENGL 31 and ENGL 33). This course focuses on the transition all of us go through as we grow from young people into adults. Students will read and study the novel The Witch of Blackbird Pond, short stories, and other selections that relate to the theme of coming-of-age. ENGL 33 will encourage students to analyze their reading skills and will push them to improve those skills. The writing students do as part of this course will help them become better writers as well. 8 lessons, 8 assignment submissions (6 Speedback assignments, 2 instructor-graded assignments); proctored final exam.
