Browser Advice

• Web sites hosted on the ce.byu.edu domain will be compatible with the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 6.0 and above in the Microsoft Windows environment
  • Firefox 1.0 and above in the Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and Linux environments
  • Netscape 7.2 and above in the Microsoft Windows, Macintosh, and Linux environments
  
  * Some features on our site will not function or display correctly in older-version browsers.

• Graphics will look the best in a high-color (16 bit or more) display.
  
  
• In the "preferences" or "options" of your browser, fill in your name, e-mail address, and mail (SMTP) server (which may be the same as your Internet provider if you are reaching us from home) so that e-mail links will function properly. Also "Javascript" and "Cookies" must be turned on for many of our interactive pages (registration).

Registering for Courses

Once you have found a program that you like, you can enroll for that class if it has an enroll link available. Many times there will be a phone number to call in order to enroll. Below are some tips on how to help us when you are registering.

• Be sure to include your student ID/social security number (credit courses). This guarantees that you will be registering for yourself and not for somebody else with the same name (more about social security numbers).
  
  
• Including a phone number can be important if we need to verify your registration.
  
  
• In general, fill out all the information you can. The more we know, the better we can serve you and the fewer problems you will have.
