Volunteer to Host
Hosting is an enjoyable and rewarding experience and many volunteers return
year after year! You can start the process of joining them, and helping
your fellow students, by submitting
the form at the bottom of this page. You will then receive hosting
sign-up information when it becomes available in April 2008.
Please note the following about hosting:
- You receive a free Monday–Friday name badge
if you volunteer to cover a shift for four consecutive days,
- Various part-day shifts are available.
- Tuesday–Friday shifts are 8:00–11:45 a.m., 11:30
a.m.–3:15 p.m., 2:45–6:30 p.m., and 6:15–9:30
p.m.
- Monday shifts are 8:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 12:00 noon–4:30
p.m.
- Volunteers must attend a training session from 10:00 a.m. to noon on
Saturday, August 16, 2008. Please contact our office if you have a conflict.
- Please note that hosting staff must be 18 years of age or
older.
The
following are general tasks assigned to the hosting staff:
- Check name badges at the door of an assigned class;
- Count the number of students attending a lecture;
- Keep the flow of students moving smoothly before and after
classes;
- Uphold BYU dress standards; and
- Help students enjoy their experience while attending Campus
Education Week.
