About the Instructor:

Joseph F. McConkie is a retired professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University. He served a mission to Scotland as a young man and as mission president there for three years. He earned a master's degree in Church history and doctrine and a doctorate in educational administration from Brigham Young University. He spent three years serving as a chaplain in the U.S. Army with one of those years in Vietnam. Brother McConkie was director of the Seattle Washington Institute of Religion. He is the author or co-author of numerous books. He and his wife, Brenda, are the parents of nine children.
