About the Instructor:

Richard N. Holzapfel is an associate professor of Church history and doctrine at Brigham Young University. He received his B.A in political science from BYU and PhD in history from the University of California—Irvine. He joined the BYU faculty in 1993. Brother Holzapfel is the author of numerous articles and books on Church history, doctrine, and scripture. He has also written articles for the Ensign, BYU Studies, and other academic journals. He and his wife, Jeni, are the parents of five children.
