(43) Blue Ribbon Blueprints for a Heavenly Home

Exhibitor(s): Janet Woodfield

Description: In today’s society our homes are often torn apart by worldly influences such as music, art, media, modesty, communication, misdirected love and lack of healthy guidance.  Because of this it is obvious that, in many cases, there is a lack of respect in our homes.  Help is needed to combat such ‘outside’ influences.  A quote by Elder Marvin J. Ashton  states that “Home should be an anchor, a port in a storm, a refuge, a happy place in which to dwell, a place where we are loved and where we can love.  Home should be where life’s greatest lessons are taught and learned.  Home can be the center of one’s earthly faith where love and mutual responsibilities are appropriately blended.”  “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” as well as the 2005 Ensign series “Strengthening the Family” and other appropriate blueprints provide guidelines that will lead us to the Heavenly Home we all desire.  (Elder Marvin J. Ashton, “A Yearning for Home,” Ensign, November 1992, 21)
