Title: Dry Pack Food Storage in PETE Bottles

Exhibitor(s): Larry and Marie Busby

Description: The Busbys have extensive experience in teaching home production and storage skills as Welfare missionaries in South America and the Dominican Republic. Larry and Marie have, for many years, been enthusiastic trainers in the skills of home production and storage. They have served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South America and the Dominican Republic, teaching welfare principles. As part of their assignments, they traveled widely, teaching gardening, food drying, and food storage.

The Busbys have found that storage of dry foods in soda pop and juice bottles is very successful. Used PETE plastic bottles are readily available locally and, with the addition of an oxygen absorber, they provide inexpensive, effective, food storage containers.
