Title: Portable #10 Can Dry Pack Sealers
Exhibitor(s): David Gering
Description: David is the owner of Gering and Son, a manufacturer of food processing equipment in Nampa, Idaho. In 1987, at the request of Welfare Services, David developed a unique can sealer for dry pack food storage. #10 can sealers, available at the time, were either too large to be portable, or too lightweight to be reliable. Welfare Services wanted to provide dry pack canning capacity to its bishops’ storehouse facilities. The Gering sealer, with its simplicity of operation and durable design, has filled that need.
Gering sealers are in Welfare Services’ home storage centers in the U.S. and Canada and are owned by many wards, stakes, and families. David provides technical support, parts supply, and maintenance for the sealers. He can be contacted at dgering@mindspring.com
Empty #10 cans and loaner dry pack can sealers are available at Welfare Services home storage centers. If you do not know the location that serves you, call Bishops’ Storehouse Services at 801 240 4164.
