Title: Bringing the Family
Back to the Table
Exhibitor(s):Peria Larson, Erin Henrie, Angela
Parkin
Description: In 1987 President Benson gave 10
ways to spend more time with children. One of those is “Be
Together at Mealtimes.” Mealtime is much more enjoyable
and less stressful if we know ahead of time “What’s for dinner, Mom?” Gathering
around the meal table allows us to love and nurture each other and to daily renew
our family and spiritual connections. The table must be a familiar, uncomplicated,
and friendly place where we celebrate family, food, and life’s blessings.
Appropriate and creative presentation complemented by family traditions will
enhance this experience, bring us back to the table, and back to each other.
Family meal preparation offers a great opportunity to create a nightly tradition
where families process their lives together in easy conversation and shared tasks.
