The Wheatley International Affairs Conference (WIAC) 2012, held March 13–16, brings together nearly 100 students from across the nation in a lively, exciting exchange of ideas on the topic of Human Security.
Delegates have the opportunity, in a series of roundtable discussions, to analyze and develop recommendations for United States foreign policy. Roundtables are conducted by prestigious academic and professional leaders. Students engage in moderated small-group discussions regarding their respective human security emphasis. Each emphasis is found in the United Nations Development Programme’s 1994 Human Development Report. The culmination of these discussions will be end-of-conference group policy recommendation presentations in the following areas:
Conference participants are selected through their respective sponsoring universities. The priority registration deadline is midnight December 15, 2011. Cost for priority registrants is $100, while the cost for those registering between December 16, 2011 and February 15, 2012 is $150.
