June 22–July 3, 2008

Come to BYU and dive into the world of theatre! Theatre Camp will be one of the greatest opportunities you will ever have to immerse yourself in the theatre world in the great atmosphere only BYU can offer. You will work hard, learn a lot, and make new friends with similar dreams, goals, and standards.

Theatre Camp is for beginning, intermediate, and seasoned high school actors who love to learn and want to build their theatre skills through classroom and hands–on instruction in master classes, specialty workshops, and rehearsals.

Gain new skills and improve on your current ones as you learn from our talented instructors and acting professionals. Work on your vocal and performance technique in music class. Relieve stress as you punch, hit, and kick in stage combat class. Grow in strength and confidence as you master your dance skills in movement class. Channel your inner island child in acting class. Most master classes will incorporate material and techniques to prepare for the show Once on This Island.

Specialty workshops and activities this year may include auditioning, the world of Shakespeare, the BYU Theatre program, film acting, improv, dialects, stage makeup, and costumes.

Join us for an intense two weeks as you attend classes and rehearse and perform the play Once on This Island. Theatre Workshop begins on Sunday this year, so once you check in, we’ll kick the camp off with orientation and a great fireside. Monday morning you’ll jump right into placement auditions for the show—and then the fun really starts!

Theatre Workshop has limited enrollment, so be sure to register soon.
