Food and Housing

Brigham Young

Food
If you are wondering if you will be hungry and craving some home cooked meals, don't worry, BYU has fabulous dining halls where all camp members will enjoy buffet style meals.  If the Morris and Cannon Centers don't suite your fancy, there are several alternatives such as the Cougar Eat and the Creamery, where students are welcome to purchase whatever they want out of their own pockets.

Chinese Language Camp Food: Most nights the Chinese Language Camp members will be eating in the Chinese House where they will get a home cooked meal and once a week they will be able to participate in making authentic Chinese cuisine! Other nights they will be going to restaurants or ordering in as part of the fun activities that are planned.

Housing
There will be separate residence halls buildings provided for girls and boys.  Just to make sure you mind your P's and Q's, the opposite sex will never be allowed in your bedrooms.  You can have your new guy friends or girl friends hang out in the dorm lobbies.  You also need to be doing the camp activities during the day rather than wasting your time away in the residence halls.  Slackers usually are not our most beloved and favored.... So beware.

Program participants will share a room with one other participant, with up to four other students and a native Arabic-speaking Residential Advisor. The bedrooms of each unit are off-limits to students of the opposite gender, and lights on, off, and study times will be strictly observed. Students are asked to limit their luggage to one large suitcase. As the program schedule does not allow for much "personal" time, electronic gaming devices are not encouraged. Cellular phones are permitted.
