BYU Sports Camps

BYU soccer camps are available for all levels of soccer players, from those just beginning competition, to those who have had a high level of experience (premier club level and ODP). Many campers also attend to showcase their abilities in hopes of someday earning a spot on a BYU soccer team roster. Camps not only will help you to improve your overall knowledge of the game, but also will prove to be a valuable scouting and recruiting tool for the head coaches.

Camp Director—Jennifer Rockwood
Recently finishing her 13th season at the helm of the BYU women’s soccer program, Jennifer Rockwood has acquired a long list of impressive credentials, including five conference titles and two Coach of the Year awards. With an overall record of 210-65-20, Rockwood currently ranks 11th in the NCAA among active soccer coaches by winning percentage. She has led her team to ten NCAA tournament appearances in the last eleven years with three ‘Sweet 16’ appearances. The Cougars regularly maintain a consistent Top 25 ranking, establishing themselves as one of the premier women’s soccer programs in the country. Coach Rockwood’s team has had three Top 10 finishes including the team’s recent run in the 2003 NCAA College Cup finishing #5 in the country and making their first ‘Elite Eight’ appearance in the program’s history. Rockwood has been the head coach of BYU’s NCAA and club team (128-25-9) spanning the past 18 years. She has previously coached at the high school, club, and ODP levels in the state of Utah. She begins her 13th year as director of BYU Girl’s Soccer Camp and has been instructing at camps for over 20 years.

Camp Director—Chris Watkins
Chris Watkins begins his 13th year as head coach for the BYU men's soccer team. He has compiled an overall record of 140-35-13, leading the team to Collegiate Club National Championships in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2001. The Cougars recently represented the university by traveling internationally, playing such clubs as F. C. Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano ( Spain), V.V. Sittard ( Holland), and Pachuca and Cruz Azul ( Mexico). Coach Watkins led BYU in gaining a franchise in the United Soccer Leagues, the first Professional Franchise ever purchased by a collegiate institution. As a player, Coach Watkins was the Gatorade Player of the Year in his home state of Kansas. He played NCAA Division I soccer at Drake University and held the single season scoring record there. Most recently, Coach Watkins played for the Utah Blitzz in 2002, scoring the golden goal to win the Western Conference.

Registration Notes

  • A full refund (minus $25 nonrefundable) will be granted to all cancellations requested by 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 25 (one week before camp begins). No refunds will be given after this deadline.
  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration. No deposits will be accepted.
  • Information packets with updated check-in times will be available on our Web site six to eight weeks before camp begins.
