This workshop is designed for women and men age 18 and older. Younger organ students may be admitted with special permission (e-mail organworkshop@byu.edu) but should first consider the organ component of the Young Musicians Summer Festival. Infants and children will not be admitted to workshop sessions. One-day attendance options are not available, and early registration is encouraged.
There are three convenient ways to register:
Event Dates: 31 July 2012 – 3 August 2012

These are individualized 25-minute or 50-minute organ lessons, which give you an excellent opportunity to receive help in hymn or organ certification, or in any area of organ playing. Limited practice times and choice of instruments will be available throughout the workshop. Play hymns or your choice of organ repertoire you have prepared for your instructor, who will comment on your preparation and provide guidance for the following year’s study.
Extra fee: $10
Unsure about your level of organ ability? Find out by attending a 10-minute session with an instructor. Play a well-prepared hymn and/or a piece from the organ literature, and the instructor will recommend the organ instruction level that is appropriate for you.
Sign up for private instruction or placement auditions when you register, or add the option anytime before July 27. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can call 801-422-8925 to add these options.
Until July 17, you can go online and withdraw yourself from the program and housing with no processing fee changes. After July 17, refund requests must be submitted in writing and a processing fee of $25 will be charged for each cancellation. Campus housing fees will not be refundable. Send your refund request to Organ Workshop, 161 Harman Continuing Education Building, Provo, UT 84602. Brigham Young University cannot be held responsible for any cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, travel agencies, or other institutions.
Workshop participants are required to maintain the standards of Brigham Young University while attending the program, including abstinence from tobacco, coffee, tea, alcohol, and harmful drugs while on the campus. The BYU dress and grooming standards emphasize clothing that is modest in fabric, fit, style, and length.
