What level should I register for? How do I select the classes that will be most beneficial to my skill level?
If you have not attended InterMuse or Kodály certification courses before, register for Level I. If you have taken courses at other Kodály-certified schools, then you can register for the next level up. BYU’s program is a three-summer commitment. You can only take one level per summer.
Where do I purchase the books required for this course? Can I buy them early to save time and study ahead?
You will receive the book list in your classes on the first day. You can purchase the books at the BYU Bookstore that day. They are not sold beforehand because people not registered for the program often purchase them off the shelves if they are put out early.
What weekend activities are planned the weekend between the two weeks of InterMuse?
There are no official activities planned, but often students get together to go to the Tabernacle Choir or broadcast to other events being held in town or in Salt Lake City. A list of events will be in your registration check-in packet. If you would like to attend religious services on Sunday, we will be happy to give you directions to a church of your denomination.
What would be appropriate dress for InterMuse
The dress code is casual, with most female students wearing slacks or skirts and blouses. Men usually wear casual to business casual attire. Shorts, if worn, must be knee length–no sleeveless attire, please. Concert dress is appropriate for the final concert on Friday, June 20.
When do we get our grades?
After required course work is completed, grades will be posted (entered on transcripts) in late August. You will not receive a grade report but must request an official transcript to see your grade. An official transcript may be ordered from the BYU Records Office, B-150 ASB, Provo, UT 84602; (801) 422-2631/fax; (801) 422-0613. Visit the Records Office with picture ID and $2 per transcript or request a transcript by mail or fax. Transcripts may not be ordered by telephone or e-mail. For details on transcripts, go to: http://saas.byu.edu
To obtain a transcript, you will need to furnish the following: full name and all names used while attending BYU, Social Security/student ID number, date of birth, dates of attendance at BYU, current address and daytime phone number, address where your transcript is to be sent, full signature, and $2 for each transcript. The Records Office accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Don’t forget to include the expiration date if requesting a transcript by mail or fax. Transcripts are mailed to the addresses provided by the student. It is your responsibility to keep your records at BYU updated with respect to name and address changes.
Are there any food events related to InterMuse?
There is a final banquet on the last Friday evening after the concert. The cost is included in the workshop tuition (unless you are a Benefits recipient). You may bring guests to this event by paying $24 for each additional dinner ticket. Tickets may be obtained upon registration or until Monday, June 16.
Where can I find eating places close to the workshop classes?
In your packet, which you will receive at registration check-in on Monday morning, June 9, a list of eating areas will be included. There are also vending machines and a microwave in the J. Reuben Clark Law School where classes are held.
I have some recommendations for the academy. How can I get these ideas or suggestions to you?
We are always happy to receive input for improvement. We read every submission and will implement those ideas that would improve the academy or are feasible. Be sure to complete the workshop evaluation form found in your packet. You can either mail it in after the workshop or save postage by completing it at the workshop and placing it in the drop box at the information desk.
The refund deadline has passed but I have had a family emergency, medical crisis, or other urgent situation. Will I be able to get my money back?

Make sure you state your name and what options you were registered for. After the deadline, each situation will be considered individually, depending on the case and the reason for the refund request.
