
The purpose of the Global Family Health and Development Conference at BYU is to provide students, faculty, professionals, and volunteers with an outstanding opportunity to understand successful evidence–based interventions for improving global health and poverty alleviation. This year the conference theme is Breaking the Cycle of Poverty: Looking for Solutions.

Submission Deadline:
Materials must be received by 5:00 p.m. on January 27, 2012. All abstract submissions are to be sent via e-mail to barbara_mandleco@byu.edu. Acknowledgment that materials arrived on time will be sent via return e-mail. Abstracts may be related to research or projects conducted by the author(s).
Submission Guidelines
All abstract authors submit the following information, which is needed by the program committee.
Author Information: Presenter name, degrees, CHES status (if known), current professional position
Three Objectives: learning outcomes for those in attendance
Abstract Format:
Abstract Selection and Notification: The Abstract Selection Committee will evaluate the abstracts and then notify the submitting author. The conference’s Program Committee will assign the time and date of presentation for each podium and poster abstract, on the conference schedule. The Abstract Selection Committee reserves the right to accept abstracts as a podium or poster presentation
If your abstract is accepted, the first author will be notified by e-mail of the presentation time. If there is more than one author, the first author will need to share the information with the other author(s).
Conference Registration
ALL PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE AND TO PAY THE APPLICABLE REGISTRATION FEES NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 24, 2012.
Podium Session:
A podium session consists of an oral presentation of research or projects.
Poster Session:
A poster session is a visual display of work. The conference will provide information about posters when authors are notified they will be presenting a poster.
