2009 FamilySearch Developers Conference

Announcement

Brigham Young University is pleased to participate with FamilySearch in redesigning three former conferences, the Conference on Computerized Family History, the Technology Workshop and the FamilySearch Developers Conference, all together and offering even more to those interested in the important work of family history.

The new conference will be called RootsTech and will be held
February 2–4, 2012 at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City.

Conference Purpose

Learn from FamilySearch engineers and community developers about the new FamilySearch Web Services (API), including the new Family Tree, RecordSearch, Identity, Authorities, and Catalog modules. Best practices will be presented for consuming these services in a variety of popular software environments. Get caught up on emerging models, technology, and tools for the Family History and Genealogy market. Best of all, the 2009 FamilySearch Software Awards will be presented during a special luncheon.

Who Should Attend

Family History and Genealogy Software Developers. Get in contact with others who are using similar development technologies, confronting common technical challenges, or sharing clever solutions. Lots of time to visit and collaborate at lunch, breaks, and before or after the conference.

Topics Of Interest

FamilySearch Family Tree and RecordSearch APIs are completed. Learn from the engineers and community developers that have created public libraries, tools, and products. Get the facts for the source on the soon-to-be released Catalog API. Hot issues are Identity Management, Synchronization, Persistent URLs, Citation Model, and Embeddable Objects.
