$15.00—Syllabus Only Option. If you are not able to attend the conference you may purchase a syllabus (paper or PDF format) from this conference for $15. You may do so by choosing Syllabus Only option after clicking the Register button. The syllabus is included in the conference fee if you are attending.

BYU Full-time Employees – Tuition for this course may be covered by university benefits for eligible full-time BYU employees and their spouses. You do not need to register for the credit option to receive the university fee waiver.

CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Read the assigned book and write a 3-5 page book report.
    Alone Together: How Marriage in America Is Changing
    by Paul R. Amato, Alan Booth, David R. Johnson, & Stacy J. Rogers

  2. Attend all sessions of the conference and take detailed notes on all presentations.

  3. Write a 5-10 page paper, double-spaced, describing the following:
    1. One important idea you want to apply in your life from each session.
    2. The development of a plan for applying these ideas.
    3. Any results you have seen during the time since you attended the conference.

  4. Send or deliver finished papers by 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, to:

GRADING CRITERIA—If the book report and the paper show a grasp of the key ideas from the book and the conference presentations, and if the requirement for attendance at all sessions is met, you will receive a letter grade. If you fail to complete all requirements, a UW will be placed on your BYU transcript. This may affect future classes and registration at BYU.

FINAL GRADES—Your grade is confidential. To receive your final grade, please call the BYU Records Office at (801) 422-2631. Grades will be available at the end of Spring Semester.
