An audition will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon for the Intermediate Ballet Intensive and from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the Advanced Ballet Intensive in room 283 Richards Building. The audition fee is $18, payable in advance. YOU MUST PREREGISTER FOR THIS AUDITION ($18).
The audition will be in the format of a regular technique class with center pointe work towards the end. Please note the biggest differentiation between the levels is the strength and control of the dancers pointe work. Individuals should be able to do pirouettes en pointe, adagio, and allegro work in the center en pointe. Dancers should also be able to demonstrate clean lines, alignment, dynamics, musicality, flexibility, extension, and artistry.
If you are unable to attend the audition, you may send a seven-minute recording of selected classwork, including barre, adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro, and pointe work. You can email a link where your recording is located, or mail a DVD to us. Please include (with email or mail) your name, address, phone number, the Intensive level you are auditioning for. Your $18 paid tuition and recorded audition is due no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, in the office of Conferences and Workshops.
