build bonding and fun family traditions and memories. Single sisters can form great relationships with nieces and
sisters and mom by instigating activities.
It doesn’t matter what you do.

- Take
classes together: cooking, stamping,
scrap-booking, etc.
- Plan a
weekend vacation nearby just fir girls – no kids.
- Have a
sleepover.
- Attend
Women’s Broadcast and go to dinner together.
- Attend
BYU Education Week and rent a motel room.
- Celebrate
birthdays by going to lunch.
- Have a
quilting bee with lunch, and tie a quilt for a new baby in the family, for
the children’s hospital, or for the Ronald McDonald House.
- Attend
cultural events together: museums,
ballets, garden shows, symphonies, Messiah Sing in.
- Do a
service project together. Maybe
help grandma or a great aunt do yard work or clean their house. Visit the sort center.
- Take a
fitness class
- Gather
family recipes for cookbook.
- Meet
in a part with a playground and have a picnic together with the kids.
- Do
baptisms for the dead or an endowment session and have lunch.
- Meet
together once a month and take turns deciding on the activity
- Work
on crafts together for Christmas giving or just for fun for any holiday.
- Meet
at the mall with babies in strollers and enjoy window shopping and exercise.
For Long Distance:
- Choose
a central location and meet to enjoy a fun weekend together
- Forma
Family Home Evening Club. Every 2
months, or whatever works for your group, each person makes a lesson with
visual aids, duplicates it, and sends to the other sisters. Grandma can participate as well.
- Make
an “I Spy Quilt.” Choose fabrics
and piece part of a quilt and send to a sister or grandma to finish. Then give to a sister who is expecting
a new baby or make one for each family.
