Title: “Cousintration”
Exhibitor: Juanita Nield
Description: This card game is to help cousins keep in touch and
become acquainted with each other, even at along distances. Cousin Cards can be added as the family grows. The older cousins will enjoy the challenge of the yearly “interest” cards. This is a great gift for grandparents for children to play while visiting.
How To’s:
Game Supplies & Preparation
Supplies: 8-1/2”x 11” paper
Picture for each child or cousin
Glue stick and scissors
9 “Cousintration” cards (printed on computer to fit back of card)
Directions: Fold paper into 9ths (3”x 3”)
Enter 1 “Cousintration” in each 9th. This provides the master for additional cards.
Copy enough for number of cards needed
Cut into 9ths. Hint: Most copy shops will cut cards for you for a small fee. Saves time.
Color copy pictures of children (enlarging or reducing) to fit on the card. Hint: If pictures are the same size, it’s easier and cheaper. Ask for help at the copy shop. Remember: two pictures per child.
Cut pictures and glue to back of card.
Laminate. Use heavy laminate. It costs a little more, but worth it.

Cards are placed face down. Each person takes turn drawing 2 cards, trying to make a match. If cards don’t match, they are replaced. If a match is made, player continues playing. Player with the most matches wins. Bonus could be added for matching your own cards.
Variation: Rather than two pictures, or as children get older, yearly fact cards could replace one of the picture cards. For example, Madelynn’s picture could match another card, which tells about her (starred in school play of “Annie,” artistic, in Grandma’s 4-H, and answers to Grandpa’s nickname of “Birdlegs”).
Variation: Add one picture of Grandma and play “Old Maid.”
Variation: Distribute cards and play “Go Fish.”
This is a great way for cousins to learn about each other and
keep in touch, even at long distances. A
fun game to have at Grandpa and Grandma’s house, too.
