To’s: Materials Needed
For One
Pillowcase: 7/8 yd. flannel fabric for case
1/2 yd. flannel fabric for cuff
1/8 yd. flannel fabric for trim
1/4 yd. flannel fabric for pocket
Finished pillowcase top: 30x20 inches
Fits a standard-size bed pillow
Pocket fits standard-size scriptures.
Quantities are for 44/45in. wide fabrics. All
measurements include a ¼”seam allowance.
Cut 2 1/2 x 40 1/2
in. strip from trim fabric.
Cut 9 1/2 x 40 1/2
in. strip from cuff fabric.
Cut 26 x 40 1/2
in. rectangle from case fabric
Cut 7 1/2 x 6 1/2
in. rectangle for pocket.
With right sides
of fabric together, sew the short ends of the trim fabric strip to form a
circle. Also sew the cuff fabric in the same way. With the wrong side inside, fold the circles in half lengthwise
and press.
Fold in 1/4 in. on
all side of the pocket fabric and press.
For placement of
pocket, fold the case fabric in half and place in middle of one side. Pin the
pocket on and topstitch onto case.
Fold the rectangle
in half to make a 20 1/4 x 26 in. rectangle. Sew together the long edges and
one pair of short edges.
Turn right side
out and press.
Matching raw
edges, stitch trim to cuff circle and then stitch cuff and trim to the
rectangle raw edge.
Turn right side
out and press the seam allowance toward the inside of case.
Topstitch along
the seam.
Tuck in note and
testimony of reading the scriptures.
