Do you need help in planning a workshop, symposium, or professional conference? Do you have an idea for a conference, seminar, or workshop? At BYU Conferences and Workshops, we can assist you with the development of your plans. If you are part of BYU’s faculty, administration, or staff, we can offer preliminary planning and developmental advice plus full administrative and logistical support for handling seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, short courses, and camps of all sizes, on or off campus.
Our mission is to support the university’s colleges and departments in their outreach efforts. We normally handle all of the program logistics, allowing you to focus on the program content without neglecting your teaching, research, and service to students.
We know that each event is different, and we want to create a service tailored to your needs. We can work with you to develop a customized plan that works for your program. Depending on the size and complexity of your event, you may need help in all of the areas listed or in just a few.
We will work with you in the total development of the program. While you are the experts on the instructional content, we can:
Help you establish goals and objectives for the program.
Determine the appropriate format (conference, workshop, symposium, or
short course) to meet your needs.
Help identify and arrange for speakers and other program presenters.
Coordinate with presenters to identify what instructional resources are
needed (including audiovisual equipment, handouts, and other learning
aids).
