        The Ties That Bind

A few years ago, I was scanning the obituaries in a local newspaper and came across one that was particularly expressive of the love that family members had for their deceased father. It was obvious that the family circle was one in which parents and children enjoyed warm, loving relationships and the father had been at the center.
