BGS course and credit requirements can be filled in the following ways.
Prior courses and credits transferred into the program:
- Credits earned previously through BYUwhen you apply to
BGS, your credits are evaluated for current requirements they may fill.
- Credits earned previously at other accredited colleges and universitieswhen
you apply to BGS, your credits are evaluated for acceptance for transfer
as well as for filling specific requirements.
Note: Credit earned more than eight years before admission or readmission
(including transfer credit) will be accepted to meet university core or
major graduation requirements at the discretion of the university. Furthermore,
transfer courses with grades below C– will not be used to fill BYU university core requirements or emphasis requirements.

to the program:
Note: It is expected that students admitted to the BGS program will take all remaining courses through BYU.
Pre-approvals for earning and transferring credit from accredited colleges and universities after formal
admission are given only for special circumstances to fill the university core foreign language requirement.
