The Independent Study Office handles all matters dealing with Independent Study course enrollments: enrolling you in courses and sending course materials, processing lessons, facilitating questions to your course instructors, handling course transfers and refunds, sending exams, posting grades to transcripts, etc. BGS students may enroll in Independent Study courses at any time of the year. Current class offerings, tuition rates, and instructions for enrolling in Independent Study courses are detailed online or by requesting an Independent Study catalog. Questions relating to Independent Study courses should be directed to the Independent Study Office. It is generally best to enroll in only one or two Independent Study courses at a time. You will not need to apply to these individual departments or programs (e.g., summer visiting student).

Current class schedules, tuition rates, and registration deadlines are available online at saas.byu.edu/classSchedule. You may also obtain hard copies of the Salt Lake Center and Evening Classes class schedules by contacting their departments.
